Hmm, where have we seen something like this before? A sweet birthday card for someone who could use a reminder that aspects of the grown-up world are not, in fact, terrible.

I Miss You(Front of Card)

Wherever you are is where I wish I were(Inside)

What is this? An adorable and highly appropriate card on a day other than a Sunday? (This card is perfect for that good friend or significant someone while you must be apart. (hs emphasized to honor the choice of font.))

Here’s the deal: A post will go up tomorrow, and it will be the last “daily” post. Then, I’ll be taking an indefinite hiatus to work on other projects. Hope you’ve enjoyed this month’s worth of ridiculous greeting cards! (And stay tuned for tomorrow’s.)

This card is easy: it’s either “Happy Earth Day!” or “Congratulations on your new window-washing job. Did you know that window-washers will change the world for the better?”

It's Party Time

(Front of Card)

For/Time/Date/Place(Inside of Card)
(yellow background to show card outline)

This card is an appealing invitation for several reasons:

1) Everyone wants to own and wear a t-shirt like this one. Therefore, everyone will come to your party, in the hopes that you will give them t-shirts like this one. (Note: Some of your guests will be disappointed if you do not provide t-shirts. After all, you have suggested that this will be a t-shirt party.)
2) Who knew someone made a card that’s just perfect for the t-shirt birthday party hosted by conjoined twins?

Can you think of other reasons that make this card stand out in the crowd?

Need a card for that picky friend, and not sure what he likes? Go with some trees. Everyone likes trees. Especially trees in calming colors. And that makes this one of the most versatile cards of your entire collection.

Hurray January 3, 2010

Hurray(Front of Card)

Congratulations on Your Great News!(Inside Text)

In addition to being appropriate for all celebratory occasions, this card demonstrates perfection in a text-dominant card. (For reference, this was the last text-dominant card we encountered.) Your friend got a raise? Hurray! Someone’s getting married? Hurray! Your little brother got into college? Hurray!

My favorite aspect is that the “HURRAY” is in the perfect font to seem celebratory without screaming (HURRAY) or even needing an exclamation point (HURRAY!). Also, the colors are beautiful, which makes the card both elegant and fun. So use this card wisely: so many occasions in life deserve a sincere hurray that it will be hard to choose between them.

During a quiet moment… January 2, 2010

During a quiet moment...(Front of Card)

In a quiet place... think of me...(Inside)

This card, you quickly realize, is not for those with poor eyesight! It’s another pretty little nature scene with a thoughtful message, like the earlier Walt Whitman quote card. But this card isn’t aggressively celebratory. In fact, it falls most closely into a “thinking of you” category–except somewhere along the line, the message became “think of me.”

Still, that’s perfectly acceptable; your friends won’t mind being told what to do! And so find that person you think most needs a moment of rest and relaxation and send him on a quest: find a quiet place, make a quiet moment, and then think of me.

Once again, who deserves/has earned this card? What is the occasion?

You're Invited to a Cabbage Patch Kids Party!(Front of Card)

Please Join Us(Inside of Card)

It took me a while to figure out what the most appropriate occasion for this invitation would be: You’re having a nostalgia-themed new year’s party to celebrate leaving the “two thousands” (two thousand nine) for the “twenties” (twenty-ten). Grab a pile of these to send to your friends, make some fondue, and you’ve got yourself a party!
